Dr. Faris Ghosheh specializes in corneal transplantation, cataracts and refractive surgery. He graduated Cum Laude from UC Irvine earning three degrees in Biology, History and English. After finishing his medical school education at UC Irvine, Dr. Ghosheh headed east to complete his ophthalmology residency at University of Maryland. He then completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the prestigious Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
Dr. Faris Ghosheh has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals and has received recognition as a top researcher in his field. He is a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association of Cataract and Refractive surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Sarah Farukhi Ahmed is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and glaucoma surgeon. She specializes in advanced glaucoma medical and surgical management, cataracts, dry eyes, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Ahmed graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California (USC) and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California in Irvine. During her training, Dr. Ahmed received many awards including the Harbor UCLA preliminary resident of the year, UC Irvine chief resident in ophthalmology and the UC Irvine outstanding resident research award.
Dr. Ahmed’s passion for advancing treatment in the field of ophthalmology, particularly glaucoma, led her to complete a glaucoma surgical fellowship at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Shiley Eye Institute. She has presented her research in minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) in international platforms as well, most recently the World Glaucoma Association Meeting in Finland. Through her research, surgical experience and clinical skill set, Dr. Ahmed is dedicated to her patients receiving the best possible care and achieving their best sight.
Dr. Kavita Rao is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who has been serving patients in Orange County since 2016. Her clinical interests include diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction.
Dr. Rao is a native of Southern California. She completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and then went on to earn a masters and her medical degree from Chicago Medical School. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. After graduation, Dr. Rao worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center for a few years before returning with her family to California. Dr. Rao then worked as an associate clinical professor of Ophthalmology at UC Irvine before making the transition to private practice.
Dr. Rao lives in Irvine with her husband who is also a physician, her two boys, and a golden doodle. She enjoys family time, cooking, fitness, and is an avid skier.
Dr. R.K. Ghosheh is a board-certified ophthalmologist and refractive surgery specialist with extensive experience in laser vision correction, cataract surgery and corneal transplantation. He established Ophthalmology Laser Center in 1985, and since then, has performed more than 40,000 laser vision correction procedures, placing him at the top of his field. More than 90 percent of Dr. Ghosheh’s patients are referrals from satisfied clients. After completing residency training in ophthalmology at Erie County Medical Center, an affiliated hospital of the University of New York, Dr. Ghosheh completed a corneal fellowship at the Francis Proctor Foundation for Eye Research at the University of California, San Francisco.
He is currently Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center and a clinical faculty member at the University of California, Irvine. He lectures internationally on the topic of LASIK and PRK,
